Where Foxtail Goes | Paris, France | Day 2

March 19, 2020

In the midsts of all of the COVID-19 craziness, emotions are running high for everyone. Watching the entire wedding industry dealing with cancelations, postponements, and all around uncertainty has been really tough. But the toughest part by far is seeing so many couples have to make extremely hard decisions about their wedding days. All of this, combined with being mostly stuck at home can definitely put us in a funk. In order to keep our spirits high, we’ve been reminiscing on our favorite past travels. So why not use today to blog part 2 of our favorite trip we’ve ever taken together!

Today I’ll be sharing our second day in Paris. This was our only full day in Paris, so we had to hit all of the main attractions! We fueled up with coffee and a quick breakfast to go and began our day. We headed over to the Lourve and hung out for awhile taking in all of the stunning architecture and history. After Blake took a whole bunch of photos of the crows (lol) we walked over to the Palais-Royal. The sun came out right as we arrived just in time for us to play on the art installation and walk through the blooming gardens. One of the most anticipated coffee shops of our trip was Café Kitsuné.  We have been dreaming of visiting one of their cafés for the longest time! Kitsuné means fox in Japanese so of course we were all about their whole concept, and it sure did deliver. With seating in the Palais- Royal gardens, we sat and sipped our cappuccinos, ate our lemon cake and fox cookie, all while basking in the sunshine. To top it all off we got to meet a shiba that reminded us so much of our Lupin! We then popped into their clothing store, Maison Kitsuné and bought a couple souvenirs. Then we began our long walk toward the Arc de Triomphe, down the Champs-Élysées. Walking through all of the Parisian gardens on that gorgeous April morning felt like a dream!

After a little window shopping, a rain shower came through and we ran to hide and grab some lunch and more coffee of course! Once it cleared, we headed for the Arc de Triomphe. If you have never seen the Arc de Triomphe I highly recommend checking it out. It is massive and you truly cannot grasp the size of it until you are standing right next to it! If you have time, take a trip to the top to check out the views of the city! We then walked down the Seine river and enjoyed the gorgeous scenery. Our next stop was  Saint Germain which is one of our favorite areas of Paris! It has great shopping, museums, and delicious cafés! We picked up some yummy Macrons from Ladurée and then walked through the Luxembourg Gardens. By then we had been walking all day and it was so nice to take a minute to sit and rest and just enjoy the beauty! On our walk back to our Airbnb we just had to stop for one more cup of coffee at Shakespeare and Company Café, and to admire their infamous bookstore that is right next door! On the final walk home, we grabbed some quick dinner and a bottle of champagne so that we could make it back for sunset.

We ended the exhausting but wonderful day by drinking champagne and eating macarons on the balcony of our airbnb. It couldn’t have been a more perfect day!
